On Monday, the Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, played host to the Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Mr Chutintorn Gongsakdi.

Vice Chairman Viet said “Da Nang is taking advantage of being an endpoint for the East-West Economic Corridor to foster trade and tourism cooperation with other regional countries, including Thailand”. 

The city leader expressed his thanks to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs for providing a training course on organising and managing international events for 25 local government employees the same day.  He also took the opportunity to ask the Thai government to appeal for more businesses from its country to invest in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park.

Mr Chutintorn Gongsakdi remarked that the focus should be on providing training courses in various aspects for human resources to strengthen the bilateral cooperation with Da Nang and ensure the sustainable development of their relationship.  The visiting guest stressed that in the near future Thailand is willing to share with Da Nang its experience of organising international events .
