Australian Ambassador says farewell to city leaders
Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh, and municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh, recently held receptions for the Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mr Hugh Borrowman, who came to bid farewell at the end of his tenure in the country.
Secretary Anh congratulated Ambassador Borrowman on fulfilling his diplomatic duties well. He said that he was very impressed with the numerous fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, in such aspects as healthcare, education and urban management.

Vice Chairman Minh spoke highly of the diplomat’s great efforts during his tenure in boosting the bilateral cooperative ties with Da Nang, especially in appealing for Australian businesses to invest in the city.
Mr Minh also praised him for his active involvement in many local charitable and voluntary activities. He said he hoped that the Ambassador would continue to support appeals for more businesses from his country to invest in Da Nang, the opening of the Australia-Da Nang direct flights, and boost closer links between Da Nang and Australian vocational schools.
In reply, the Ambassador vowed that he would do his utmost to strengthen cooperative relations with Da Nang, and with Viet Nam as a whole. Top priority would be given to offering more information about educational programmes and scholarships to Vietnamese students, and strengthening bilateral cooperative ties.
