On Tuesday, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh met with Ambassador Bruno Angelet, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Viet Nam.  Mr Minh asked for greater assistance from businesses from the European Union (EU) member nations in training human resources and developing more medical facilities.

Vice Chairman Minh said, “Da Nang is focusing on promoting the development of information technology and hi-tech industries.  I hope, therefore, that you will make your best efforts to appeal for more EU businesses to invest in the city’s priority aspects, as well as expedite the implementation of cooperative projects on enhancing the capacity of climate change response for the local authorities and residents”.

He remarked, “My delegation has been carrying out many strategic cooperative programmes in Viet Nam.  Included are medical assistance and legal reform projects, and promoting access to electricity and renewable energy for poor people in remote and deep-lying areas”.

Also at the meeting, both host and guest agreed to boost their bilateral cooperation in the years ahead in order to facilitate EU businesses to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang.
