City leader receives Swiss Ambassador
The Swiss Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Viet Nam, Ms Beatrice Maser, was given an official reception on Thursday by Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh. During their meeting, the Vice Chairman affirmed that Da Nang is making every effort to improve its investment and business environment in order to attract more foreign investors, including any from Switzerland.
The host said, “Da Nang will focus on fostering the development of such aspects as tourism, education, banking and finance, and hi-tech and environmentally-friendly industries in the years ahead.”

In reply, the Swiss diplomat said that she was very happy to work in Viet Nam and to visit Da Nang. She expressed her delight at the fruitful results from the numerous cooperative programmes between her country and Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole. She said she hoped that the bilateral cooperative relationships with the city would be further deepened and strengthened in the future.
A total of 90 Swiss businesses are operating effectively in 12 localities across Viet Nam.
Over recent years, Da Nang businesses have exported textiles and garment products to Switzerland, and imported machinery and equipment from there.
