On Monday, Da Nang People’s Council (PCl) Chairman Tran Tho chaired a meeting to check Lien Chieu District’s preparatory work for the election of the forthcoming all-level People's Councils which will take place on 22 May.

The district’s Party Committee Secretary, Mr Vo Cong Chanh, reported that preparations for the upcoming general elections are proceeding in accordance with the plan and on schedule at all local wards and communes.  Work to ensure security, order and safety for the elections has been the focus.  The arrangements for the voting venues and the distribution of voting-related documents and votes have been made on schedule.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Tho stressed the need for the district authorities to prepare well for the election in accordance with the national law and on schedule, as well as create fairness between candidates in the election campaign through their meetings with voters and the media.  The focus should be on ensuring the accuracy of counting of votes, and security before, during and after voting day.

On the same day, municipal PCl Vice Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung, and representatives from local government departments and agencies, paid investigation visits to some places displaying lists of voters in the district.
