Crew of visiting South Korean ship visits city leaders
On Thursday, the Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, played host to a delegation from the crew of the training vessel BADARO from the Republic of Korea Coast Guard Academy. The delegation was led by the Director of the Academy, Mr Kim Du-seok.
Vice Chairman Viet applauded the ship’s 4-day visit which is intended to promote mutual understanding and information exchange between the 2 naval forces especially in combatting piracy, pollution prevention and control, and maritime safety management.
The city leader took the opportunity to ask the South Korean government to give more assistance to Da Nang, and to Viet Nam as a whole, especially to help with combatting piracy and practising search and rescue training activities at sea.
Director Kim Du-seok said, “I am very impressed by the friendliness of the local people and the warm welcome given by the city leaders during our visit to the city. I pledge to make every effort to successfully complete the exchange programmes in the city, and I hope this visit will help to deepen the friendship between the naval forces of our 2 countries”.
