JICA willing to help Da Nang become a modern city
On Wednesday, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan played host to a group from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by Chief Representative of JICA Viet Nam Yasuo Fujita.
The host and his guests exchanged information on many aspects, including the Da Nang Water Environment Improvement Project.
In particular, the two sides agreed to apply advanced technologies in the wastewater treatment system in order to minimise the land area designated for the plant, save operating costs, and ensure the efficiency of its operation. The locations earmarked for the wastewater discharge pipes, and procedures to access official development assistance (ODA) capital from foreign countries, were also discussed.
In addition, discussions focussed on ways to enhance the traffic infrastructure along the East-West Economic Corridor.

Vice Chairman Tuan said he would like the Japanese government to help his city construct the Lien Chieu Port, and a project to relocate Da Nang railway station to Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Minh Ward.
Chief Representative Yasuo Fujita remarked, “Japan has been very successful in building its national transportation systems. If Da Nang wants to become a modern city, the Japanese government is willing to give as much assistance as possible”.
