By 2020, the city is aiming to achieve its general goals of building a strong and transparent Party organisation, maintaining political stability, promoting democracy, and upholding consensus amongst local authorities and residents. This will help to justify Da Nang’s position as one of the country’s largest cities, the economic, cultural and social hub of the central region and highlands, and a more prosperous, peaceful, civilised and modern city.
With regard to the city’s socio-economic growth, the emphasis will be on attracting more domestic and foreign investment into the city, promoting the development of local private businesses, improving local services especially tourism and trade, and appealing for more investment into the IT and hi-tech industries.
Importance will also be attached to building a synchronous infrastructure system and a cultural and civilised urban lifestyle, as well as training high quality human resources.
As for local Party building, greater efforts will be made to boost the performance of the local Party organisations, enhance the quality of local Party members, increase the efficiency of State management activities, and accelerate administrative reform.
Solidarity and consensus amongst locals will be strengthened, and the performance of socio-political associations and the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels will be also bolstered.
Local security and defence will be ensured.
Municipal PC Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh urged the leaders of all local Party organisations to develop their plans for publicising the central government’s guidelines and the municipal PC’s polices to all local government employees, Party members, and local residents.
