South Korean ambassador pays courtesy visits to city leaders
On Wednesday, the South Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Viet Nam, Mr Lee Hyuk, paid courtesy visits to Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh and to municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh.
During his meeting with Secretary Anh, Ambassador Lee expressed his impressions of the city’s rapid progress. He affirmed that many investors from his country have shown a keen interest in conducting investment and business activities in Da Nang, whilst his citizens all like visiting this beautiful city.
He said he believed that the bilateral cooperative relations with Da Nang would be deepened and promoted in the years ahead. He vowed that he would do his utmost to appeal for more businesses from his country to invest in the city’s hi-tech and dedicated information technology industrial parks.

In reply, Secretary Anh applauded his visit and pledged that the city authorities would create very favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from South Korea, to operate effectively in the city.
During his reception for the South Korean ambassador, Vice Chairman Minh said he would like the South Korean Embassy in Viet Nam to organise cultural and economic exchange activities between Da Nang and South Korean localities to mark the 25th anniversary of Viet Nam-South Korea diplomatic ties in 2017.
Mr Minh hoped that the South Korean government would give a helping hand to upgrade the Viet Nam-Korea Friendship Information Technology College in Ngu Hanh Son District into a university.
As for his part, Ambassador Lee undertook that he would make even more efforts to boost the bilateral cooperation with Da Nang in the near future, and introduce the beautiful images of the landscape and people of Da Nang to his citizens.
Currently, South Korea is the city’s largest foreign investor with 57 projects, worth in total around 750 million USD. Da Nang has established cooperative relationships with 3 cities in South Korea. Last year, the import-export turnover between Da Nang and South Korea reached around 90 million USD.
