The Da Nang War Veterans' Association recently reviewed its performance over the first half of the year and discussed the preparations for its 6^th Congress over the 2017 - 2022 period.  Present at the event was municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri.

Between January and June, the Association has been actively involved in enhancing Party building work, and ensuring the success of the elections for the 14^th National Assembly and all-level People's Councils for the 2016 - 2021 tenure last month.  Greater efforts have been made to lift the Association’s poorest members out of poverty, and it has already fulfilled 70% of this year’s target.

In addition, some of the initial preparations for the 6^th Congress of the municipal War Veterans' Association have already been completed.  Included are draft reports, personnel preparations for the Association’s all-level executive boards, and the launching of an emulation movement to welcome in the Congress later this year.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary Tri praised the Association for its remarkable achievements over recent years, and for its great efforts in encouraging all members to participate in the elections.  He pledged that the local authorities will create very favourable conditions for the Association to fulfil its assigned tasks well and ensure the success of its Congress.
