City leader receives Thai ambassador
During his recent reception for the Thai Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Viet Nam, Mr Manopchai Vongphakdi, the Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Mr Tran Van Mien expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the bilateral cooperative programmes with Thailand over recent years, especially in such aspects as the economy, trade, and investment.
Ambassador Vongphakdi highlighted the favourable geographical position of Da Nang at the end point of the East-West Economic Corridor linking Viet Nam’s central regional localities with Myanmar, Thailand and Laos.
He thanked the city authorities for creating favourable conditions for Thai businesses to invest and effectively operate here over recent years. He vowed that he would do his utmost to further the good relationship and bilateral cooperation in various aspects, especially trade and investment.
In addition, the Thai ambassador remarked, “I will introduce Da Nang’s investment climate to businesses from my country, and I believe that they will soon visit the city to seek investment and cooperation opportunities”.

Also at the event, the host and his guest agreed to further deepen the bilateral cooperation in order to appeal for more Thai businesses to invest into feasible projects in Da Nang.
Currently, about 20 businesses from Da Nang have established bilateral cooperative relations with partners in Thailand. To date, the city has attracted 2 Thai companies with a total investment capital of over 10 million USD.
