The Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Mrs Truong Thi Mai, recently met with representatives from the Da Nang Party Committee to review the city authorities’ efforts to encourage local residents to become actively involved in compatriot emulation movements over the 2010 - 2015 period.

Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri remarked that, over the review period, the Party Central Committee-issued guidelines and directives concerning publicity activities were effectively implemented.

Numerous meetings and dialogues with local residents were also held in order to listen to their opinions and aspirations and take effective measures to solve social issues which cause great concern.

Most notably, the city’s ‘Effective Publicity Activities’ campaign was effectively implemented over the period, which helped to ensure social welfare, maintain political stability, and create consensus amongst local residents.

With regard to the city’s publicity tasks in the years ahead, focus will be on implementing the national democratic regulations at grassroots level and promoting local compatriot emulation movements.  Importance will be attached to renewing the operation of the city’s Fatherland Front Committee and local socio-political organisations.

Mrs Mai urged the city authorities to enhance their concern for poor households in Hoa Vang District, increase the living conditions of local residents, and ensure their legitimate interests.  She also emphasised the need to issue more social welfare policies for local residents, ensure social equality, and narrow the gap between the rich and the poor.

She also asked the municipal Party Committee to find more effective ways to enhance the trust of local residents in the leadership of the Party, deal with matters which cause great concern, and institutionalise the Party and State’s guidelines and policies to satisfy the legitimate aspirations of local residents.  Also, special heed should be paid to developing local government employees who are directly involved in the city’s publicity activities.

In response to Mrs Mai’s suggestions, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh vowed that the city authorities would make greater efforts to effectively implement the Party’s publicity activity in order to enhance the living standards of local residents and make the city more prosperous.
