Vice Chairman Dung remarked that the Vietnamese and British governments have previously signed a cooperation agreement to establish the Viet Nam-UK University in Da Nang, but construction work has not yet begun due to financial problems. He vowed that the city’s authorities would do their utmost to strengthen the fruitful friendship between the two countries, as well as set up a special group for exchanging information with the Viet Nam-UK Network in order to start the construction of the university as soon as possible.
The host said he hoped that his British guests would act as a bridge in appealing for more businesses from their country to invest in the city in the years ahead.
In reply, Mr Chapman promised that the Viet Nam-UK Network would organise even more practical activities to create closer links between the business communities in both countries, and to foster the bilateral cooperation in many aspects. This will help to boost the bilateral relationship and mutual understanding between the two countries in the future. He also noted that the British delegation has already met with the leaders of the University of Da Nang to discuss the detailed plans for the deployment of the Viet Nam-UK University.
