Deputy Secretary Tri highlighted the fruitful results from the bilateral cooperative programmes with China on trade, tourism, investment, and education over recent years.

The city leader said, “Last year, Da Nang’s import and export turnovers with China hit 200 million USD and 23 million USD respectively.  As of June this year, there are 21 scheduled flight services from China to Da Nang, with an additional 10 charter”.

He continued, “The number of Chinese visitors to the city is higher than from any other country.  In particular, in 2015 the number of such visitors hit 304,044, whilst the figure in the first half of this year was 211,079”.

He remarked that the municipal Department of Tourism and the city-based travel agencies have joined efforts to organise numerous seminars and tourism promotion programmes to advertise the locality and region to potential Chinese customers.

He proudly said, “As of August this year, the city has been home to 10 Chinese-invested projects, with a total registered investment capital of over 6 million USD.  To date, the city has established friendly relationships and cooperation with many Chinese localities, including Shandong, Jiangsu, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Kunming, and Fangchenggang”.

Secretary Jin Xiangjun said that his city and Da Nang share many similarities, and he stressed the need for the 2 localities to promote bilateral cooperation on culture, tourism and sports.
