Vice Chairman Minh remarked, “To date, Da Nang has signed cooperation agreements with 3 Japanese localities on urban planning, environmental protection and other aspects”.

Currently, 130 Japanese businesses are operating in the city with total registered investment capital of 460 million USD, and many of them have poured their money into the city’s Hi-tech Park.

Every year, many delegations of representatives from the city authorities pay visits to Japan to organise investment promotion programmes there in a bid to attract more investors from this country.  Since the start of last year, Da Nang has hosted the Japan-Viet Nam Cultural Exchange Festival for 3 occasions.

In particular, the host re-affirmed his locality’s firm stance in considering Japan as its major foreign investor.  Over recent years, many local schools have opened Japanese language classes for their pupils.

The city leader also asked for help from the Kushiro authorities to facilitate the city to access advanced seafood processing and preserving techniques to enhance the local product quality.  He also hoped that Kushiro would boost its tourism cooperation with Da Nang, and participate in the Japan-Viet Nam Cultural Exchange Festival 2018.

In reply, Mayor Hiroya said that, over recent years, his city has cooperated with the Da Nang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to jointly deploy a project for accelerating the development of the local agriculture.

The Japanese guest highlighted the significance of continuing to implement this meaningful project, and to join efforts in developing Da Nang’s seafood catching, processing and preserving techniques in the years ahead.
