Da Nang plans to organise a series of activities throughout the year to celebrate the 50^th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (8 August, 1967-2017).

The activities include an East-West Economic Corridor- Da Nang Trade and Tourism Fair 2017 from 11-16 August, a conference on the ASEAN Community, free trade agreements between ASEAN and partners, and an ASEAN Tourism Space from 10-14 August.

At the same time, Da Nang will launch a contest on the 50^th founding anniversary of ASEAN for high school pupils in September, and an ASEAN tertiary education festival on 16 September.

An international conference for young researchers at economic and business universities will be held on 3 November.

The activities aim to promote the development process of the ASEAN over the past 50 years, thus raising the public awareness of opportunities that the association can bring to residents of the member countries, as well as challenges that the member states are together dealing with currently.
