Chairman Tho proudly said that Da Nang boasts its clean, safe and healthy environment for both visitors and investors. He affirmed that the local authorities are willing to facilitate foreign investors, including those from Japan, to invest and operate effectively in the city.
The city leader remarked “Over recent years have seen numerous fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation with some Japanese localities. To date, over 150 Japanese businesses have been investing in Da Nang, and Japan ranks 5th with its investments amongst the city’s 43 foreign investors. Japan has assisted Da Nang to develop its urban infrastructure, as well as enhance the quality of its transport, healthcare and education.”
Mr Tho noted that the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW) will take place in his city in November. He, therefore, hoped that JETRO would help the city to appeal for even more businesses from their country to seek the city’s investment opportunities in such aspects as hi-tech, information technology, real estate, tourism and trade.
In reply, Vice Chairman Akahoshi said that Japanese businesses have always shown a keen interest in investing into Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole. He added that JETRO will organise a seminar in Ha Noi to promote investment into Da Nang. This will be an opportunity for the seaside city to introduce its strengths and potential, as well as its preferential policies for foreign investors, to Japanese businesses in order to attract them to invest into the city.
