Secretary Anh applauded the visit of the Lao guests, which is one of activities to mark the 55th anniversary of the Viet Nam-Laos diplomatic ties (5 September 1962) and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Viet Nam - Laos Amity and Cooperation Treaty (18 July 1977).
The city leader remarked that Da Nang was very honoured to have been chosen to host a recent seminar to discuss the role of female National Assembly deputies in Viet Nam and Laos, and to organise the forthcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in November.
Secretary Anh also noted that the city authorities have asked local relevant agencies to effectively implement the bilateral cooperative agreements signed with Laos.
In reply, Secretary Bouddavieng said he was deeply impressed with Da Nang’s significant socio-economic achievements over recent years. He hoped that the Party, government and people of Da Nang would continue their efforts to maintain the city's reputation as a distinguished coastal destination in Viet Nam, and in the world as a whole.
The Laotian guest spoke highly of the fruitful results from the numerous bilateral cooperative programmes with Da Nang over recent years. This has helped to promote his province’s socio-economic development, and deepen the bilateral long-lasting traditional friendship with Viet Nam.
