Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum reopens today
Today, 5 December, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Ha Noi reopened for visitors to pay tribute to the late President after more than 3 months of repair.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with representatives from the management board of the mausoleum in the capital on Sunday, 3 December.
Major General Nguyen Van Cuong, the Head of the mausoleum’s management board, reported that the crucial task of this year was to upgrade a number of important facilities in service of the best preservation of the body of late President Ho Chi Minh.
As of November 2017, a total of more than 2.2 million people had visited the mausoleum, including over 504,000 foreigners, up 11 -12% against the same period last year, he cited.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated the management board’s efforts in quickly accomplishing the upgrade.
He requested the board to build measures to ensure absolute safety and security for the mausoleum and agencies in the centre of Ba Dinh political area.
The PM asked the Ha Noi People’s Committee to soon improve the road from Thang Long boulevard to K9 historical relic site to attract more visitors.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is an important landmark of Ha Noi capital city and stands integrated to the political and social history of Viet Nam. After his death on 2 September, 1969, Ho Chi Minh was embalmed and put for view in this granite mausoleum. The mausoleum, modelled after Lenin's tomb in Moscow, was built in 2 years, from 1973 to 1975, with materials donated by people from all over the country.
