City leader extends wishes to Laos consulate staff on their special festival
On Friday morning, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Van Mien visited and extended their greetings to the staff of the Laos Consulate General in Da Nang on the occasion of their upcoming traditional Bunpimay New Year festival 2019 (13-15 April).

On behalf of the government and people of Da Nang, Vice Chairman Mien wished the staff of the Laos Consulate General, and Laotian citizens as a whole, good health, happiness, and success in their Bunpimay new year.
He also took the opportunity to extend his best wishes to the Lao Communist Party and government leaders on the occasion of their special festival, as well as praised them for their remarkable achievements over the past year.
The city leader also expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation with Laotian localities. He also vowed that the city authorities would continue granting more scholarships for Laotian students, and giving active supports for friendship activities between Da Nang and Lao localities.
In reply, Lao Consul General Viengxay Phommachan thanked the city leader for his kind concern and hoped that the Viet Nam-Laos friendship would be lifted to new heights in the future.
He added there are now a total of more than 460 Lao students studying in the seaside city, and they have received active support from the local authorities.
He also hoped that the bilateral cooperation between Laos and Da Nang would be strengthened in the years ahead.
