Chairman Tho highly appreciated the Indian guest for his great efforts in boosting the bilateral friendship and cooperation relations with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, over recent years.
The city leader remarked his city and India shared many similarities in geographical position, culture, and development orientations.
He also asked for a helping hand from the Indian government to develop Da Nang's information technology sector.
Mr Tho also hoped the Indian diplomat’s successor would do his utmost to lift the bilateral relationships with Da Nang to new heights.
The Indian guest, for his part, expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the cooperative programmes with Da Nang in such aspects as economy, education, and culture over recent years.
“In 2018 alone, exports and imports between Da Nang and India reached 2.5 million USD and 80 million USD respectively. As of March, the city had attracted 5 Indian-invested projects worth about 14.7 million USD in total. In addition, every year, the Indian government grants many scholarships for municipal government officials”, Mr Parvathaneni Harish said.
An international air route connecting Ha Noi with India is scheduled to open in October. This will help to promote the bilateral cooperation relations in the aspects of economy, education, culture and tourism with Viet Nam in the future.
