Mr Tho added Da Nang has to date attracted 750 FDI projects totalling 3.4 billion USD, plus many official development assistance (ODA) capital sources, which has helped to boost the development of the city in recent years.
The city leader noted Viet Nam and Hungary have recently signed a framework agreement on developing financial cooperation programmes. Under the agreement, Hungary provided 440 million EUR in ODA loans for Viet Nam.
Chairman Tho said his city would access the ODA loans from Hungary to upgrade the Da Nang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital in the coming time. He also asked for help from the Hungarian diplomat to encourage even more businesses from his country to visit the city to seek investment opportunities in the years ahead.
For his part, Hungarian ambassador Ory Csaba stressed the need for Da Nang to prepare for necessary procedures to take out ODA loans for the implementation of the city’s hospital upgrade and expansion project.
The Hungarian guest affirmed that he would be willing to connect with the city's working delegation to Hungary to learn about the country’s healthcare industry to make appropriate decisions in the selection of medical equipment for its hospital upgrade and expansion project in the time to come.
