Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, on Monday, hosted a reception for a group of officers and men from the Khanh Hoa Province-based Submarine Brigade 189, and the crew of the submarine HQ-186 Da Nang.

During the meeting with the city Party chief, Senior Lt. Col Nguyen Van Bach, Commander of the 189 Submarine Brigade, briefed the host on his unit’s training activities and combat readiness, as well as technological innovations to promote well the tactical capabilities of submarines, over recent years.

Mr Bach said proudly that, last year, his unit completed all assigned missions, particularly in training and combat readiness, thereby contributing significantly to safeguarding Viet Nam's national sovereignty.

He thanked the Da Nang leaders for their active support for the crew members of HQ-186 Da Nang, and the officers and men of the Submarine Brigade 189, hereby facilitating them to fulfill their assigned tasks. He also took the opportunity to extend his Tet wishes to the leaders and people of Da Nang.

In reply, Secretary Quang expressed his impression and congratulated the 189 Submarine Brigade and the submarine HQ-186 Da Nang on their outstanding achievements they have gained in recent years.

The city leader expressed his belief that both units’ naval officers and men would continue their efforts to fulfill their assigned tasks to deserve as the core forces in firmly protecting the sacred national sovereignty over its sea and islands.

Secretary Quang asked the navy officers and men from the Submarine Brigade 189 Navy and Da Nang’s submarine sailor to continue upholding their steadfastness and solidarity, and strictly maintaining combat readiness, so as to fulfil their assigned tasks.
