Close to 7.3 billion VND for supporting Agent Orange victims in Da Nang
In 2020, the Da Nang Association of Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin (DAVA) and its chapters across the city raised a combined total of nearly 7.3 billion VND from domestic and foreign philanthropists to support victims of AO in Da Nang.
The donated money went to provide extensive care and rehabilitation services for 120 children of AO in Da Nang, give monthly allowances to 213 others, build a new house for an AO victim, and present gifts to over 5,000 victims across the city on public holidays.
Last year, the Association welcomed 30 international organisations, plus 170 foreigners, around the world to visit and support local victims.
During this year, the Association and its chapters strive to raise more money from domestic and foreign generous donors to help the victims, as well as provide dioxin detoxification and healthcare services for those who have been exposed to the toxic defoliants.
