Da Nang asked to continue vigilance against Covid-19

Da Nang must remain vigilant in tandem with building detailed plans for Covid-19 prevention amid the complicated development of the pandemic, especially in response to the appearance of new coronavirus variants in many countries worldwide.

Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong made the statement during his meeting on Thursday with leaders of Da Nang.

“Close supervision should be made at Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang Railway Station, seaports, and schools and hospitals citywide to put suspected cases of Covid-19 under quarantine with the aim of preventing disease transmission in the community” Mr Cuong remarked.

Deputy Minister Cuong also applauded Da Nang for its great efforts to take proactive and timely measures to stem the spread of the virus last year.

According to Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam, Da Nang asked the whole medical system and people from all walks of life to thoroughly grasp the Ministry of Health’s Covid-19 prevention guidelines with a serious and drastic spirit.

Of special note, Da Nang has strictly controlled and handled cases of illegal entry, as well as encouraged the public to follow the 5K (in Vietnamese) motto: namely ‘Khau trang’ (Face mask) – ‘Khu khuan’ (Disinfection) – ‘Khoang cach’ ‘Distance’ - ‘Khong tu tap’ (No gathering) – ‘Khai bao y te’ (Health Declaration) over the upcoming Tet holiday in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.
