In his remarks at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman Minh said the tree-planting campaign is in response to Uncle Ho’s appeal for afforestation at the beginning of every lunar year. He also highlighted the importance of such a meaningful activity for human life, especially in the context of current global climate change.

Additionally, Mr Minh took the opportunity to call on all-level authorities, sectors, agencies, economic organisations, armed forces, and residents across Da Nang to become actively involved in the campaign in a bid to step up afforestation and forest protection.

“Planting trees is a practical job, significantly contributing to building Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city and protecting the green, clean, beautiful environment in the city” Mr Minh emphasised.

To mark this occasion, the attending city leaders planted 9 trees at the Nai Nam Communal House. Also, all of the wards, districts, government agencies and schools in Hai Chau District were actively involved in planting trees.
