Tet financial support worth 57 billion VND for poor and social policy families in Da Nang
Da Nang government has made great efforts to ensure that all all local residents enjoyed a warm, happy and safe Tet.
Specifically, 46.73 billion VND funding from Da Nang government, and 5.38 billion VND funding from the national government, were spent on giving Tet gifts and granting Tet allowances to social policy beneficiaries, those who gave great service to Viet Nam's national revolution, and poor residents across Da Nang.
In addition, Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee raised over 3 billion VND from generous individuals and organisations across the city to give Tet gifts for nearly 10,000 poor families in the city.
Likewise, Da Nang People’s Committee presented Tet gifts, totalling 2 billion VND, to more than 4,000 very poor families in the city.
The municipal Department of Industry and Trade joined forces with the city-based Dac Vinh Company and the city branch of the CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company to sell pork at stabilised prices at 16 locations across Da Nang in a bid to meet the increasing demand for pork before Tet.
A combined total of 1,710 billion VND was spent on stockpiling food and consumer goods ready to supply the public across Da Nang during the Tet Festival.
Fourteen checkpoints were set up at major entry and exit points in Da Nang in an effort to reduce the risk of bringing the deadly virus into the city amid the fresh resurgence of COVID-19 in Viet Nam.
Some public service providers such as power, tap water, trash pickup, and wastewater treatment, made every effort to ensure the best services for residents and tourists in Da Nang during Tet.
