As many as 500 Youth Union (YU) members across Da Nang, on Saturday, took part in a ceremony to launch the 2021 Youth Month in the city.

Co-organised by the municipal YU and the YU organisation in Thanh Khe District, the event aimed to celebrate the 90^th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (26 March).

At the launching ceremony, the organisers called for all YU members in Da Nang to become actively involved in soon-to-be-held voluntary campaigns and charitable activities in the city. Included will be the building of new rural areas and a civilised urban lifestyle, environment protection activities, and promoting technological innovations to improve labour productivity.

To mark this occasion, the YU organisation of the Da Nang Government Department and Agency Block planted trees and placed a bookshelf, totalling 50 million VND, at the Thanh Khe District-based Le Van Tam Primary School.

Also, some outdoor fitness and children entertainment equipment, worth 150 million VND in total, was placed at the residential area in An Khe Ward, Thanh Khe District.

Besides, the YU organisation in Thanh Khe District donated 20 million VND to a social policy family in the district to help them repair their downgraded house, as well as gave scholarships, valued at 500,000 VND each, to 20 poor studious pupils in the district.
