Female cadres play important role in driving Da Nang's growth
The Da Nang Committee Advancement of Women on Saturday held a meeting to review its performance in 2020 and identify tasks for 2021, as well as organised a cozy get-together for female cadres across the city, a move to celebrate International Day Women (8 March) and the 1981st anniversary of the Trung Sisters’ uprising.

Over the past year, the municipal Committee Advancement of Women has implemented 20 emulation targets on gender equality, many of which exceeded its initial estimates.
Da Nang authorities did well in terms of taking care of the material and spiritual life for women, and widely publicising in the community about gender equality.
In particular, the proportion of female cadres and civil servants taking the managerial posts in government agencies and organisations has been on upward trend. Public awareness of gender equality has recorded many positive changes, and the position of women in the family and society has increasingly been asserted.
With regard for this year’s major tasks, focus will be on implementing a project for preventing gender-based violence over the 2021 - 2025 period, promoting gender equality –related policies and laws, consolidating models and activities to promote gender equality in life.
Also, heed will be paid to enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of State management of gender equality, and promoting highly practical programmes and actions for the advancement of women.
Addressing the event, Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary, People's Committee Chairman and Head of the Committee for the Advancement of Women Le Trung Chinh commended local female cadres for their efforts, role and working efficiency.
He affirming that the contingent of female cadres has always played an important role in driving Da Nang's growth.
The municipal administration chief also expressed his strong belief that female cadres, civil servants and public employees will continue to uphold their virtues, energy, talents and professional qualifications in a bid to make more dedication for the building of a more prosperous, beautiful and civilised city.
On the same day, the municipal Committee for the Advancement of Women held a seminar on integrating gender perspectives in policy making chaired by Dr Vu Phuong Ly, Programme Specialist of UN Women Viet Nam.
