Da Nang leader holds press conference on key concerns for the city with announcement of no fireworks on Reunification Day
A press conference for the first quarter of 2021 took place in Da Nang on Monday with the chair of Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.

Answering questions about the Viet Nam’s national government- approved adjustments to the master plan for Da Nang’s major developments to 2030, with a vision to 2045, raised by journalist from central and local media agencies, a representative of the Da Nang Department of Construction said that the city has till date received recommendations from around 15 investors who show keen interest to invest and conduct the research into projects included in the city's master plan. Certainly, all suggestions and ideas from the public across Da Nang along with domestic and foreign experts are very welcome in order to build 12 functional areas in the city.
With regard to the Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang authorities are demanding developers of all projects to be deployed in this peninsula to make sure that their projects conform with existing planning related to land use, defence and security, forests and tourism.
Regarding disposal of 200,000m3 of dredged sediment at sea in Da Nang, a representative of the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that a seminar has been held in the city to discuss how to sink the dredged material and ensure this is done in ways so as not to adversely affect the environment. The discussions highlighted that dredged material is not a hazardous waste, and dredged material disposal will not cause pollution of the waters of Da Nang. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment will map dumping locations in the city in line with Vietnamese offshore waste disposal laws.
Regarding the prevention and control of COVID-19 in Da Nang, the Department of Health said amid the complex developments of the pandemic in Viet Nam’s neigbouring countries and the world, the city is giving cautious welcome to visitors in order to ensure the city’s successful dual task performance to prevent and control COVID-19 while driving the city's economic recovery.
Regarding the management of foreigners, Da Nang Police said that up to now, the City Police has handled 16 criminal cases related to foreigners illegally entering Viet Nam.
