Da Nang imposes fines of VND 18 million for breaking face mask rule

Authorities in Thach Thang and Hoa Cuong Nam wards in Da Nang’s Hai Chau District have dealt with some people breaking the city’s COVID-19 rules in recent days. In particular, the local authorities have imposed fines of VND 18 million for people who fail to wear face masks in public.

In detail, fines of VND 10 million and VND 8 million VND have been imposed on people for breaking the city’s face mask rule in Hoa Cuong Nam and Thach Thang wards respectively.

On Tuesday afternoon, leaders of Hai Chau District People's Committee awarded VND 10 million VND from the city’s budget as bonuses to staff of authorities in the two wards for taking prompt and intensive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in their localities.

Authorities in Thach Thang and Hai Chau 2 wards have also warned some people of potential discipline for failure to properly wear masks.

Currently, the Hai Chau District authorities are taking drastic measures to tackle COVID-19 and making their preparedness and response plans for possible pandemic wave.

The district authorities are also speeding up investigation, tracing, isolation and monitoring of COVID-19 cases and their close contacts in line with the Ministry of Health’s Guidelines for Infection Prevention and Control.

Besides, local authorities are tightening measures to control COVID-19 with a focus on dealing with people for breaking the city’s COVID-19 rules.
