Flights to bring home 600 Da Nang citizens from HCMC on July 21
600 Da Nang citizens will be able to return home from Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on three flights organised by the Da Nang Government and the Association of Da Nang Compatriots in HCMC, the Da Nang Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced on Monday.
This follows the support the Association of Da Nang Compatriots in HCMC has provided to get people back on special flights from Viet Nam’s worst COVID-19 outbreak.
“Previously, Da Nang citizens had been arranged to return home free of charge on 16 sleeper buses operated by Phuong Trang Group. However, many localities along the National Highway 1A from HCMC to Da Nang are imposing strict lockdown to tackle COVID-19. Therefore, traveling by bus will be very inconvenient for the returnees. Da Nang leaders have already agreed to bring home their citizens on flights”, said Doctor Nguyen Van Dau, the Chairman of the Association of Da Nang Compatriots in HCMC.
The flights will depart at 10:00am, 2:00pm and 6:00pm from HCMC to Da Nang on July 21.
All these Da Nang returnees from HCM will be sent to 5 hotels in the city for staying in managed isolation upon arrival in the city.
