“The opening of the Hai Van Tunnel 2 for facilitating returnees to pass through safely is one of the city government's timely and humanitarian decisions, thereby ensuring the safety for the returnees as passing through Da Nang in recent rainy and windy weather" noted Secretary Quang.

From October 6 until now, some relevant agencies and volunteer groups citywide have been on duty around the clock along roads where groups of returnees have passed through so as to support food, drinks and others as well as to guide them through the tunnel safely.

Up to now, the traffic police forces have led the way for more than 6,000 people to travel through the tunnel safely on their motorbikes. Additionally, transit vehicles have been used to carry returnees and their motorcycles through the tunnel.

“All returnees are very touched by great support and sentimental affection from the government and people of Da Nang over the past times" added Mr Hai.
