Deputy Minister of Public Security praises 199 Hospital for improving healthcare quality

During his visit to the Da Nang-based 199 Hospital on Tuesday morning, October 19, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, the Deputy Minister of Public Security, praised the hospital’s staff for their work and dedication to patients over the past two years. Mr Son also highlighted huge efforts the hospital has made to improve the quality of healthcare and promote its development, thereby increasing patients' trust in its health care professional.

Deputy Minister Son applauded the hospital for its renovation projects with a focus on setting up areas dedicated for medical examinations for senior officials, and giving radiation therapy and chemotherapy services to treat cancer. In addition, the heed must be paid on urgently completing the renovation of the proposed items in order to put them into use as soon as possible, Mr Son emphasized.

“The COVID-19 outbreak has shown many aspects of the health and care system at its best. Healthcare workers in the 199 Hospital have responded with outstanding dedication and skill. Some of them were deployed to southern localities affected by COVID-19 to help tackle the virus”, said Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son.

Colonel Quach Huu Trung, the Director of 199 Hospital, said that the Hospital has conducted RT-PCR tests for nearly 200,000 people, and given rapid testing to around 17,000 police officers and staff along with local residents.

Besides, the hospital’s healthcare professionals have till date administered COVID-19 vaccines to more than 10,000 police officers and staff. Currently, they are giving life-saving jabs to 18,000 people who are retired police officers and relatives of police officers in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai along with those who contributed to the national revolutionary cause. Moreover, a combined total of 90 doctors and nurses from the 199 Hospital were deployed to southern localities in support them in the fight against COVID-19.

“Amid the city’s strict stay-at-home order, the 199 Hospital has been active to provide healthcare services for local residents. Included were COVID-19 home testing and home medical services, prescription home delivery service, remote consulting in an attempt to help local residents to find it easy to access healthcare services during the city’s social distancing period”, Colonel Quach Huu Trung said.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security appreciated Da Nang police for their tremendous efforts to help the city bring the COVID-19 outbreak under control. He also acknowledged that police officers have joined forces with military personnel and healthcare workers along with staff of relevant agencies to make their dedication and commitment to the city’s fight against the deadly disease in a bid to protect the safety of local residents.
