Gifts presented to heroic mothers and martyrs' mothers
Some representatives from the Standing Committee of the Da Nang Youth Union (YU), and 26 affiliated units, have recently visited and presented gifts to 30 heroic Vietnamese mothers and war martyrs’ mothers across the city in the build up to the 65th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Viet Nam Youth Federation (October 15, 1956 - October 15, 2021).
During the visit, YU members burnt incense to commemorate heroic martyrs, wished heroic mothers good health and longevity, and cooked intimate meals for them like children returning home after a long time away.
Initiated by the municipal YU from the beginning of 2021, the practical and meaningful activity aims to show their gratitude and respect towards these mothers for their great devotion in the defence of the nation against invaders in the past, as well as promote the long-lasting national tradition of ‘when drinking water, think of its source’.
Accordingly, leaders of the YU and representatives of its affiliated units visit and take care of these mothers every 2 months.
Recently, the municipal YU in collaboration with the city-based Pickup Truck Club donated suitable means of livelihood, totalling VND 45 million, to 9 victims of Agent Orange in the city in order to help them increase their incomes.
