Specifically, the ‘Green, Clean, and Beautiful Sunday’ movement has been still carried out across the Hoa Vang District in a bid to ensure environmental sanitation in the locality during the pandemic.

According to a spokesperson for the Natural Resources and Environment Office in the district, over the past 3 months, despite many difficulties and challenges sparked by the complicated developments of COVID-19, local agencies and organisations have effectively carried out the movement. As a result, 100 m3 of waste have been collected and treated, whilst 10,000 new trees have been grown during that period.

Between May and September, a combined total of more than 1,150 people citywide were actively involved in collecting more than 351 tons of waste and planting 36,000 new trees.

In the past 3 months, women's unions at all levels have been active in encouraging their members to sort trash at the source, and then sell recyclable items to raise fund for supporting disadvantaged families and pandemic prevention and control forces. Such an active move has significantly contributed to protecting natural resources and the environment, ensuring social welfare and driving the circular economy.
