Foreign policy activities significantly contribute to Da Nang's socio-economic growth
Foreign policy activities have significantly contributed to driving Da Nang's growth over recent years.

Secretary of the municipal Party Committee cum Head of the National Assembly Deputies’ delegation Nguyen Van Quang made the statement at the online National Conference on Foreign Affairs on Tuesday under the chair of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Secretary Quang affirmed that this conference was a new highlight in thoroughly popularising the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, thereby promoting foreign affairs in a bid to affirm Viet Nam's position and prestige in the international arena.

According to the city leader, during the 2011-2020 period, Da Nang well implemented the Party's policies and guidelines regarding foreign affairs. The city’s economic diplomacy activities positively contributed to making appeals for more investment into trade and tourism sectors, thereby promoting the city’s growth.
In 2020 and 2021, the city effectively organized many investment promotion webinars targeting such its foreign partners as the U.S., India, Sweden, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and some international organizations.
Most recently, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam has been appointed as the Chairman of PEMSEA Network of Local Governments for Sustainable Coastal Development (PNLG) in the 2022 - 2025 term, which affirmed the city’s outstanding achievements in its multilateral cooperation activities.
Secretary Quang remarked, in the time to come, the city will focus on improve the efficiency of the Party’s external relations in a new normal, as well as continuing to research and forecast information on the world’s economic and political situation and the national government’s orientations and directions in order to issue policies suitable to foreign affairs activities in the locality, especially the emerging trends from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Importance will be attached to promoting the effective implementation of bilateral and multilateral cooperation programmes. Greater efforts will be made to effectively implement international agreements with foreign localities and organizations in the fields of trade promotion, investment, tourism, start-up, innovation, and exchanges of technologies and human resources so as to drive the city’s post-pandemic economic recovery.
Heed will be paid to fostering economic diplomacy by renewing the approaches to international partners in order to increase the effectiveness and practical value of trade, tourism and investment promotion activities in foreign markets.
Last, but not least, the emphasis will be on promoting cultural diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy over the 2021-2025 period, as well as closely coordinating with national ministries and branches to deploy appropriate solutions to ensure security and sovereignty of sea and islands, hereby contributing to drive sustainable marine economy growth.
