The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO), on Tuesday, held a meeting to review its people-to-people exchange activities in 2021 and identify its new tasks in 2022.

In his remarks at the event, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son highly appreciated remarkable results that DAFO has gained over the past year. He also praised DAFO’s great efforts in well coordinating with government departments and agencies, associations, mass and social organizations, schools and localities to organize many meaningful activities to promote the land and people of Da Nang to international friends.

Vice Chairman Son suggested that in 2022, DAFO and its member organizations would be more proactive in renewing and diversifying its activities, as well as attracting more support from friends around the world for the construction and development of the city.

As of December 31, 2021, the Da Nang government had sought aid from 63 foreign non-governmental organisations, with a total committed funding of nearly VND 127 billion, for the implementation of numerous social welfare programmes across the city.

In 2022, DAFO will make every effort to intensify people-to-people exchange activities in the coming time in a bid to further the advertisement of the beautiful images of the city to international friends.

On the occasion, DAFO was awarded the emulation flag from the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations in recognition of its leading role in emulation movements in 2021.

Also, 2 groups and 2 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee in honour of their active involvement in DAFO’s activities in 2021.
