The donated money went to build new houses or repair downgraded ones for  poor families, give scholarships to poor studious pupils, and provide means of livelihood for needy people.

Moreover, a number of programmes bearing the Association's own imprints were organized successfully in the city, such as 'Humanity House', 'Charity Porridge Pot', 'Write to Dream', and 'Loving Arms'.

The information was released by the Association at a Saturday meeting to review its performance in 2021 and deploy its tasks for 2022.

In his remarks at the event, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh highlighted great efforts made by the Association and its chapters at grassroots level to carry out many meaningful programmes to support those in need.

He also took the opportunity to ask the Association to further improve the efficiency of its activities, as well as raise more funds from generous donors to ensure the effective implementation of humanitarian programmes in 2022. Importance will be attached to raising public awareness about guidelines, policies and laws related to children, and proposing competent agencies to intervene and promptly settle cases of child abuse.

"In the immediate future, I want the Association to mobilize resources to help the poor and the disadvantaged citywide to celebrate a warm and joy Tet" emphasized Chairman Chinh.

As planned, in 2022, the Association will strengthen the publicity of the Law on Children, along with guidelines and policies on child care, education and protection, as well as carry out a project on building Da Nang into a child-friendly city during the 2021-2025 period.

On this occasion, the Association received an emulation flag from the Central Viet Nam Association for Protection of Child's Rights in recognition of its leading role in the protection of children's rights in 2021.

Also, 21 groups and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Central Viet Nam Association for Protection of Children's Rights, whilst 20 collectives and individuals were presented Certificates of Merit from the Da Nang People's Committee and municipal Fatherland Front Committee.
