Thousands of Tet gifts and free coach tickets given to needy workers
On Saturday, the Da Nang Labor Confederation and its chapters across the city simultaneously organized the 'Reunion Tet - Peaceful Spring' programme in an effort to help their disadvantaged members to celebrate a warm and happy Tet.

Specifically, the Hai Chau District chapter of the municipal Labor Confederation presented 1,000 Tet gifts, worth VND500,000 each, to members who are facing financial hardship due to COVID-19.
In addition, the municipal Labour Confederation gave 300 Tet gifts, valued at VND1 million each, and 102 free coach tickets, to its members as a way to help them return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families.
Meanwhile, the Son Tra District chapter of the municipal Labour Confederation, gave 450 Tet gifts, totaling VND300 million, to its members and workers in difficult circumstances at the grassroots-level trade unions.
The Trade Union organisation of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones awarded 1,200 gifts, each worth VND1 million, to workers working in industrial parks citywide who are living in extremely difficult circumstances and suffering from serious illnesses. Each gift consisted of cash and some necessities.

At the same time, 8,000 'Welfare packages of Trade Union', worth VND1.6 billion in total, were given out to trade unions at grassroots level, and more than 960 free coach tickets were presented to needy workers in order to help them return to their hometowns to reunion with their families on the occasion of Tet.
Chairman of the Trade Union organisation of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zone Nguyen Thanh Trung, said that his organisation planned to give a total cash support of more than VND1 billion, to 700 members workers who were confirmed to contract SARS-CoV-2, and 1,000 Tet gifts to those who do not go home to celebrate Tet.
Also, the organisation's representatives visited and gave spiritual encouragement to 5,000 trade union members of 50 city-based businesses severely affected by COVID-19.
Previously, the Ngu Hanh Son District chapter of the municipal Labor Confederation presented 130 Tet gifts, each worth VND1 million, to needy members.
