2022 Lunar New Year tree planting campaign launched in Da Nang
On Sunday morning, a ceremony to launch a tree-planting campaign took place at the Care Centre for AO Victims and Disadvantaged Children in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang.

The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang Veterans’ Association, the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In his remarks at the launching ceremony of the campaign, Chairman of the municipal Veterans’ Association Huynh Minh Chuc said the tree-planting campaign was in response to Uncle Ho’s appeal for afforestation at the beginning of every lunar year. He also highlighted the importance of such a meaningful activity for human life, especially in the context of current global climate change.
He also emphasised that importance of planting trees in significantly contributing to building Da Nang into an environmentally friendly city and protecting the green, clean, beautiful environment in the city.
Mr Chuc took the opportunity to call on all-level chapters of the municipal Veterans’ Association citywide to get actively involved in the campaign in a bid to step up afforestation and forest protection.
To mark this occasion, representatives from the Da Nang Veterans’ Association, the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development planted 100 fruit trees at the Care Centre for AO Victims and Disadvantaged Children in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District.
Also at the launching ceremony, leaders of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development gave the symbolic board of 400 seedlings for chapters of the city Veterans’ Association at all levels in the service of tree planting in the year of the Tiger.
Leaders of the city’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment presented 8 lawn mowers, 7 single-wheel hand trolleys, 40 hand saws, and 276 hoes, shovels, rakes and machetes to the city Veterans’ Association for sake of environmental protection and tree planting activities every weekend.
