52 typical YU officials honoured with 'March 26' Awards

The Da Nang Youth Union (YU) held a ceremony on Tuesday in the city to celebrate the 91st founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - 2022).

In attendance at the event were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; leaders of the municipal People's Council, the Da Nang Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, and other departments and agencies; former YU cadres; and a large number of YU members across the city.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Secretary of the municipal YU Nguyen Manh Dung praised generations of Vietnamese youth over the historical periods for their active, pioneering, and creative spirit to well fulfill their assigned tasks.

He also spoke highly of YU members across Da Nang for joining efforts with the city in the fight against COVID-19 through many practical and meaningful activities over the last two years.  

Secretary Dung took the opportunity to ask YU members citywide to continue promoting their volunteering and impulsive spirit in all fields, especially in speeding up digital transformation, fulfilling political and professional tasks, and driving the local socio-economic development, in the coming time.

Also at the ceremony, fifty-two Youth Union officials in Da Nang were honoured with ‘March 26’ Awards, whilst 10 others received ‘For younger generations’ commemorative medals in recognition of their outstanding achievements and highly-appreciated initiatives in building and developing the Youth Union organisations citywide.

In addition, the Da Nang Liaison Board of former YU officials awarded 20 scholarships to students in recognition of their great efforts in overcoming their difficulties to gain good academic results and their active involvement in community activities.

The scholarships, totalling VND598 million, were funded by the Tan Tan Trading - Production - Cultivation One Member Co., Ltd.

On this occasion, the Liaison Board launched a scholarship fund called ‘Green Aspiration’ to award scholarships to studious poor students in the time ahead.
