The Youth Month 2022 takes ‘Creative Youth’ as its theme. In the days of March, young people in Da Nang have been carrying out many meaningful and creative activities in response to the 2022 Youth Month.

Renewing publicity activities to raise the youth’s awareness of revolutionary traditions

Nguyen Thi Hoang Nhung, residing in Son Tra District’s Tho Quang Ward, said that her house was just about 2km from the Hoang Sa Exhibition House, but she has yet to visit this place.

Recently, the Tho Quang Ward chapter of the Da Nang Youth Union (YU) has coordinated with YU organisations of some units stationed in the district to organise a visit to the Hoang Sa Exhibition House.

In just over an hour, Nhung and her friends have understood more about the geographical position and natural conditions of the Hoang Sa Archipelago, the ancient Vietnamese bibliographies written about the archipelago and historical evidence affirming Viet Nam's sovereignty over the archipelago.

"For me, this is a short but meaningful history lesson", affirmed Hoang Nhung.

Recent days of March meant a lot to Le Bao Hoang Anh, an 11th grader at the Thai Phien Senior High School, as he and some YU members in Thanh Khe District’s An Khe Ward visited and presented gifts to 14 female former youth volunteers in the ward.

Stories about an enthusiastic youth told by the former youth volunteers inspired Hoang Anh and his friends to make positive contributions to the country in peacetime.

In response to this year’s Youth Month themed ‘Creative Youth’, many YU organisations at all levels citywide have carried out many publicity activities to raise the youth’s awareness of revolutionary traditions.

In particular, the Ngu Hanh Son District chapter of the municipal YU has organised many exchange activities between the district's young people, and officers and soldiers of the Non Nuoc Border Guard Station.

As part of its ‘Back To Red Addresses’ programme, the YU organisation of Hoa Vang District has invited living witnesses to talk about their struggles against foreign in the locality. This activity has not only attracted YU members and but also students across the district.

Promoting IT application to create useful playgrounds for the youth

Most recently, the Da Nang YU has launched a contest for the youth to make videos about Da Nang cuisine.

The ongoing contest has attracted a large number of young people in the city, and become an impressive channel to promote Da Nang’s cuisine from ‘goi ca Nam O’ ( Nam O raw fish salad) to Bich ‘Quang’ noodles, Ba Lieu 'banh kho me' (dried sesame seed cakes), and ‘Banh trang cuon thit heo’ (belly pork and vegetables wrapped in soft rice paper).

Deputy Secretary of the municipal YU Le Cong Hung expressed his impression on entries with lots of beautiful camera angles and unique approaches, showing off the creativity of the city's youth.

Moreover, the organisation has organised online contests to learn about the Law on Youth, and Law on Access to Information, thereby creating more useful playgrounds for young people.

In addition, YU organisations at grassroots level have actively created virtual playgrounds in light the complicated developments of COVID-19.

Specially mentioned have been online contests ‘The Face Hai Chau’, ‘Stories about heroes’ and ‘Seeking young talents’ launched by the YU organisation of Hai Chau District.

Meanwhile, YU organisations of Doan Son Tra, Thanh Khe, Lien Chieu and Cam Le districts have organised online training courses on English skills and IT, as well as online contests to learn about historical figures.
