New Consul-General of Japan in Da Nang pays courtesy call on leaders of municipal Department of Foreign Affairs

New Consul-General of Japan in Da Nang, Mr Yakabe Yoshinori on Friday paid a courtesy visit to leaders the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs and hand Consular Authentication which was issued by Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to them.

In his remarked at the reception for Mr Yakabe Yoshinori, Mr Huynh Duc Truong, the Director of the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs congratulated the Japanese diplomat on his new position. Mr Truong also vowed that the department will create the most favourable conditions for Consulate-General of Japan in Da Nang to operate effectively.

Mr Truong also took the opportunity to ask for the support from the new consul-general of Japan to promote the cooperative relationship in culture, society and economy between Da Nang and Japanese localities in order to help to build a more sustainable relationship between Viet Nam and Japan. The focus will be on orgasing events to celebrate 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

For his part, Mr Yakabe Yoshinori, said that following the approval by the Viet Nam’s National Government, the embassy of Japan in Ha Noi has announced the upgrade of the Consulate Office of Japan in Da Nang into the Consulate General of Japan in the central city, and the consular legalization certificate came into effect on January 1, 2022. The new Consulate exercises consular jurisdiction over the following central localities: Da Nang, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh. Mr Mr Yakabe Yoshinori was appointed to serve as new Consul General of Japan in Da Nang.

Mr Yakabe Yoshinori hoped the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs will continue its support of the operation of the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang. In addition, he promised that in his new position, he will exert every effort to boost bilateral exchange and cooperation in investment and trade between Japan and Da Nang, and the central localities as a whole, contributing to deepening bilateral ties between the two countries.
