The Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam Social Security (VSS) on Friday presented 170 voluntary social insurance books and 420 health insurance cards to people living in difficult circumstances with a total value of VND900 million.

The funding was donated by the staff of the Da Nang branch of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Viet Nam (Vietcombank).

In detail, the beneficiaries consist of 60 needy people each in Cam Le, Hai Chau, and Thanh Khe district, 100 each in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts, 189 in Hoa Vang District and 21 in Lien Chieu District.

According to the Da Nang branch of VSS, the donation aims to create favourable conditions to enhance livelihoods of poor and disadvantaged households, contributing to the effective implementation of sustainable hunger eradication and poverty alleviation programmes in the city, and mobilise individuals, organisations and enterprises to associate production and business activities with social and community responsibilities.
