Supporting disadvantaged people to access social insurance and health insurance policies

On Tuesday morning, the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam Social Security in collaboration with the Ngu Hanh Son District People's Committee and the city branch of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) gave social insurance books and health insurance cards to disadvantaged people in the district.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh highlighted the humanity of the presenting of social insurance books and health insurance cards to needy people who could not access medical services in the context of the prolonged pandemic in helping them gradually stabilise and improve their lives, thereby contributing to effectively implementing the city’s sustainable poverty reduction programme.

During the city’s sustainable poverty reduction programme, a total of 170 voluntary social insurance books and 420 health insurance cards will be presented to people living in difficult circumstances with a total value of over VND940 million. Of which, 60 health insurance cards and 40 social insurance books, with an amount of more than VND190 million, are given to needy people in Ngu Hanh Son District.

All costs of the programme are contributed by officers and employees of the Vietcombank system.

On behalf of the city leaders and receivers, Vice Chairman Minh praised the officials and employees of Vietcombank for their kindness and generosity, affirming that this was a meaningful activity to help local disadvantaged people access the city’s social insurance and health insurance policies to rise up in life.

He also took the opportunity to ask the city branch of the Viet Nam Social Security to continue coordinating with other departments and agencies, mass organisations and localities to support disadvantaged people to access the city’s social insurance and health insurance policies, herby contributing to speeding up the universal health coverage roadmap in the city .

Previously, the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam Social Security had worked with the city branch of Vietcombank and the authorities of Cam Le, Lien Chieu and Hai Chau districts to give more than 140 social insurance books and health insurance cards to those in need.

The presenting of health insurance cards and social insurance books will continue to be deployed in the remaining districts in the near future.
