Da Nang boosts investment and trade cooperation with Bremen State
The Da Nang Investment Promotion and Support Board held a workshop on Thursday to promote investment and trade cooperation with State of Bremen, Germany.
During the event, a representative from the Da Nang Investment Promotion and Support Board briefed participants on the city’s investment climate and opportunities.
Specifically, the city boasts strategic geographical location, developed infrastructure, qualified human resources, and favourable business and living environment.
Under the master plan for Da Nang’s major developments by 2030, with a vision to 2045, Da Nang will turn itself into a big, smart, liveable, coastal eco-city cum a startup and innovation hub in Asia. In particular, the city will focus on developing itself on three main pillars: marine economy, hi-tech industry and high-quality services and tourism.
Mr. Kolja Westley Umland, Regional Executive Director of Bremen's Economic Development Agency in ASEAN and Viet Nam, highly appreciated Da Nang for its great efforts in driving post-COVID-19 economic growth.
He remarked Bremen is one of Germany's leading industrial and logistics hubs. Specially, Bremen/Bremerhaven is the 27th largest container port in the world.
Bremen is now home to more than 1,000 logistics businesses. Some of the world’s leading logistics service providers have set up their branches in Bremen such as Metro, Fiege, Dachser and Schenker.
Mr. Kolja Westley Umland said Da Nang and Bremen have great potential for the development cooperation in the fields of seaports and logistics.
Up to now, Da Nang has attracted 13 German-invested projects totaling US$10.3 million. The major of these projects have involved in such aspects as tourism, hotel, transportation, information technology and construction.
