In his closing speech at the 8^th session of the Da Nang Party Committee on Tuesday morning, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang highlighted the significance of upholding the high sense of responsibility of the city leaders, and promoting the spirit of initiative, creativity, and determination in directing and implementing in a bid to well fulfill the targets and tasks set for 2022.

The local Party chief Quang requested Part Committees at grassroots level and socio-political mass organisations, especially heads of departments, branches and localities, to take the initiative in well implementing Party building and political tasks.

He also asked departments, branches and localities to widely publicising political tasks set for the second half of the year, as well as fly national flags and the flags of the Communist Party of Viet Nam at roundabouts before the National Day (September 2) in order to creating an exciting atmosphere for both locals and visitors.

As for the economic field, Secretary Quang suggested relevant agencies to drastically deal with limitations in the first half of the year, with a focus on solving problems relating to public investment disbursement, the acceleration of key project progress, vaccination work, and disease prevention and control.

Importance should be attached to reviewing and developing solutions to achieve the highest results of socio-economic development targets set for 2022.

Special attention should be paid on timely implementing the Prime Minister's direction on adding to the viewpoint of Da Nang's draft master plan to 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Heed should be on resolutely tackling the harassment of tourists, enhancing security and social order and ensuring environmental sanitation so as to help tourists achieve peace of mind when travelling to Da Nang.

Mr. Quang also directed the police, border guard and military forces, plus judicial agencies, to well coordinate to ensure security and safety in the city, especially to fight against crime, especially high-tech, black credit, drugs, and youth-related crimes.

While speaking at the event, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh expressed his delight at the positive signs of the city’s socio-economic recovery in the first half of the year.

He explained the aforementioned positive achievements were mainly attributed to a high level of consensus among the political system, business community and people of the city.

Particularly, the city has launched many tourism stimulus programmes to lure more visitors, as well as proactively remove difficulties and actively support enterprises to boost their post-pandemic production and business recovery.

Chairman Chinh took the opportunity to urge relevant agencies to well implement the pandemic prevention and control work, as well as continue to organise many activities to increase tourist numbers and ensure safety for visitors.

Great efforts will be made to speed up the construction progress of key projects and budget collection, promptly handle business proposals, and actively coordinate with central ministries and branches to remove investors’ difficulties.
