Da Nang donates 25 houses of gratitude to policy beneficiaries in Thanh Hoa

A Da Nang delegation led by Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, and Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet on Sunday afternoon paid a working visit to Thanh Hoa Province, during which, Da Nang leaders met with their counterparts in the province on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).

Mr Luong Nguyen Minh Triet expressed his deepest gratitude for the great contributions that Vietnamese heroic mothers, revolutionary martyrs, revolution contributors along with war invalids and sick soldiers in Thanh Hoa Province have made for the cause of national liberation and defence. He also greatly appreciated all help and support Thanh Hoa people gave to the Quang Nam - Da Nang battlefield during the war against the US.

Mr Triet recalled resounding victories of the revolutionary armed forces and people in the Quang Nam - Da Nang battlefield during the resistance war against the US and highlighted the significance of strong support from the Lam Son Commando Brigade and people in Thanh Hoa Province in gaining these victories.  

In the struggle for national liberation and reunification, more than 1,000 soliders from Thanh Hoa Province laid down their lives on the Quang Nam - Da Nang battlefield.

Mr Triet remarked that in its efforts to express deep gratitude to revolution contributors and join hands with Thanh Hoa Province’s leaders to take care of these people and pay homage to fallen soliders, Da Nang has frequently sent its delegations to the province to burn incense at local martyrs’ cemeteries, as well as donate houses of gratitude and savings books to local policy beneficiaries.

He also pledged that Da Nang would continue its efforts to join hands with Thanh Hoa Province to care for revolution contributors.

In reply, Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Do Trong Hung thanked the Party, government and people of Da Nang for their help and support to revolution soliders from Thanh Hoa who joined the struggle for national liberation and reunification. He also affirmed that Da Nang’s precious love and active support for his province’s  local policy beneficiaries have always been acknowledged.

To mark this occasion, the Da Nang delegation presented 25 houses and 50 savings books worth VND 2.5 billion in total to local policy beneficiary families and revolution contributors in Thanh Hoa Province.

On the same day, leaders of Da Nang and Thanh Hoa Province offered incense and flowers to commemorate fallen soldiers at the Ham Rong and the Quang Xuong District martyrs’ cemeteries in Thanh Hoa Province.

The Da Nang visitors also presented a gift and a house of gratitude to war invalid Hoang Xuan Thu, born in 1954, residing in Quang Ngoc Commune, Quang Xuong District, Thanh Hoa Province.
