Da Nang is on course to develop human resources, specifically developing the University of Da Nang and building a high-quality human resource training centre in the locality, in preparation for welcoming foreign investors, including those from the US, in the coming time.

The statement was made by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang during his reception on Friday afternoon for US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc E.Knapper.

Secretary Quang informed that within the framework of the Da Nang Investment Forum 2022 in late July, the city leaders ininvited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to visit the Sunshine aerospace components factory, developed by the US-based Universal Alloy Corporation Asia Pte. LTD-UAC, in the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was introduced by the factory director to innovative products made by Vietnamese workers, and he highly appreciated the operation of the factory.

The city Party chief Quang expressed his belief that the US ambassador will continue his efforts to encourage more US investors to seek investment opportunities the city.

In reply, the US diplomat was delighted at the city leader’s warm welcome, affirming that Da Nang has great potential for American investors to seek investment opportunities.

He remarked the US and Da Nang have cooperated in many aspects, especially in education and training.

The guest hoped that in the coming time, Da Nang as well as localities of the US will create all conditions to promote the exchange of students, thereby tightening their cooperation relations.

He informed that Boeing is looking to expand its supply chain and build an aviation component factory in Viet Nam, which is in line with the city’s investment promotion strategy.

He pledged to encourage Boeing staff to visit Da Nang to seek investment opportunities and hoped that more US firms will effectively operate in the city.

While receiving the US diplomat also on the same day, municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh briefed his guest on the city’s outstanding socio-economic development results over the past time.

Specifically, over the first 7 months of the year, Da Nang made great efforts to attract more investments into the city, especially in the spheres of hi-tech, seaports, logistics, innovation, healthcare and education.

Da Nang has established cooperative relations with 3 US localities. Currently, some US businesses are effectively operating in the city, significantly contributing to the locality’s progress.

Mr. Marc E.Knapper thanked Chairman Chinh for his warm welcome and expressed his delight at the city’s remarkable achievements. At the same time, he affirmed that he will appeal for more prestigious US businesses to invest into Da Nang in the near future.
